The use of sorted glass waste brings not only very significant energy savings for glassworks but this product of recycling also replaces primary raw materials. Subject to employed technology the batch can consist of as much as 60 – 80 % of sorted glass waste. Cullet, comprising a part of the batch, will be melted, together with other batch components, at a temperature of about 800-1400 °C, before being converted into new products. The process of glass recycling offers a great advantage in that it can be repeated to infinity.
